contest.
So, uh, the whole idea is that the (creepy) girl is numb, in misery and can't feel anything, so turns to pain. The red (disturbing) hands are meant to be 'Trust me, and take my hand bit'.
It's like....Other people would find it frightening, but the girl is happy because someone is finally guiding her, like she has a purpose.
